Acrelec’s QSR and retail partners were facing increasing demand from customers wanting to pay with Bitcoin and stablecoin. Traditional online and in-store crypto payment setups required complicated integrations, multiple vendor approvals, or QR-based web flows that slowed down the checkout. Merchants wanted something faster and built it directly into the kiosk, no extra hardware, no extra hardware, no extra steps. Acrelec needed a payment partner that could plug into their existing systems without disrupting operations or adding technical overhead.

Solution

Acrelec integrated Speed directly into its kiosk, and POS flows along with a custom drive-through solution, enabling customers to pay in Bitcoin and stablecoins with one tap. The integration uses Speed’s real-time API and supports both Lightning and on-chain payments. For the merchant, it means no new screens, no special readers, and no additional staff training. Payments appear instantly inside the pre-set Acrelec flow. The entire experience from scan, pay, and confirm happens in seconds.

Result

The rollout of Speed-powered crypto payments at Steak ’n Shake kiosks demonstrated how Acrelec was able to integrate faster, more flexible payment options directly into existing checkout flows.

It was also able to enable Bitcoin and stablecoin payments across its kiosk, POS, and drive-through solutions, which helped merchants streamline checkout, offer payment flexibility, and simplify payment operations.
